We’d love for everyone to be able to attend The Lead Developer, but we know that some people’s personal or financial circumstances will make this difficult. We set aside a number of free tickets as part of our scholarship scheme to make the conference open and accessible.

The scheme is open for all to apply to, and chosen applicants will receive access to all content, food, drink and all the extras. In some special cases, we are able to cover travel and accommodation.

There will be a guide available to all scholars. A guide is an experienced member of the community and will be a friendly face at the conference, there to help make sure you get the best out of your conference experience and to introduce you to other people at the event.

The scheme supports individuals from underrepresented and marginalised groups in tech and those facing economic or social hardship to have access to brilliant content and networking opportunities. If you’re an aspirant technical leader or you're already in a leadership role without access to the funds to buy your ticket, you should apply. We'll award tickets to people who can show that the knowledge gained will be useful for their ongoing career.

Open scholarship applications

The Lead Developer Berlin
Visa deadline: 6 August 2019
No visa deadline: 23 August 2019

We've added earlier deadlines for applicants who need to apply for a travel visa in order to attend the conference and may need extra time to arrange this. Applicants who need a visa will still be considered after the initial deadline however this may not leave enough time to arrange appropriate visas.

If you have any questions about the scholarship scheme, please get in touch and we'd be happy to help.

Submissions will be assessed by the organising team and all applicants will be notified by email within four weeks of the closing date. Scholarship tickets can only be given in a limited number and the organisers’ decision is final and cannot be appealed.
